Mumbai Rains Live Updates


Mumbai, which saw rains bringing the city down to its knees in 2005, is set to receive heavy showers in the next 48 hours. The disaster management team and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) are on alert and water logging has been reported in several parts of the city. The BMC helpline number for emergencies is 1916.

Mumbai Police has also issued an alert stating that heavy water-logging is expected in the next few hours due to heavy showers and high tide. The police have advised Mumbaikars to check their route before venturing out. Due to heavy rains, trains on the western line have been suspended.

Maharashtra government has issued orders to all offices to allow their employees to leave early in the wake of Met department's warning on heavy rains. Following incessant rain, Milan and Andheri subways have been shut due to water-logging. Traffic snarls have been reported from Andheri, Wakola, Film City junction, Santacruz

BMC will brief the media at 4.00 pm.

Mumbai & suburban areas received more than 70 mm rain in past 1 hour & more than 100 mm rain in Mumbai since 8:30 am today

Waterlogging at various stations, including Dadar, Kurla and Parel
